How Points are calculated at Bradenton
03/02/05 - For 2005, the Corvette Challenge at Bradenton Motorsports Park (BMP) will allow "buy-backs" for drivers who do not win first round. This will affect how points are assigned to the drivers. We apologize for not getting this information out sooner.
When a driver loses in the first round, there is an option to buy back into the race. However, no points are will be awarded for any subsequent round wins once bought back in. The buy back system gives drivers a second chance to continue to participate on a day when they lose first round.
The points system for the Corvette Challenge at Bradenton is in line with all other points classes at Bradenton. BMP is the official keeper of points and points posted on this site are re-pubished from the Bradenton official points calculation.
Points are awarded as follows:
- 20 points for buying tech card
- 10 points for each round won
- 1 point extra for runner-up
- 2 points extra for winner
- Exception: A driver who buys back into the race will NOT earn round win points but WILL earn the extra point(s) if runner-up or winner
Any questions on the point system can be directed to Bradenton Motorsports Park at BMPFla@aol.com or by calling 941-748-1320.
