March 2005 - Bradenton, FL - All I have to say is it must be getting close to summer here in Florida, because it was HOT and HUMID and if we didn't need anymore help going slower the 20+ MPH headwinds didn't help.
The fist round buy-back option seems to be a success with 9 of the 10 first round losers bought back in for the second round. Also, remember that no points are awarded for any subsequent round wins once bought back in. The buy-back system gives drivers a second change to continue to participate on a day they loose the first round.
Semi round had was Emily Lewis versus Ron Bilyeu with Marc Fisher with a bye into the Finals (for the second strait month). Ron dialed a 12.02 with Emily at a 12.57 with Emily taking the win with a .053 R/T and a 12.57 E/T.
The Finals are set with Marc Fisher racing Emily Lewis the 2003 Florida Corvette Challenge Points Champion. Marc dialed an 11.30 giving Emily a 1 second head start with her dial in at 12.55 which would prove not to matter with Emily pulling red-light and leaving the win to Marc, which probably wouldn't have mattered anyway since Marc ran an 11.31 on his 11.30 dial-in.
Congratulations Marc!!!!
Other awards were: Best Reaction Time goes to William Conte with a perfect .000!! Way to go!
